Picture Perfect

It's that time of year again... PICTURE DAY! I've never liked any of my picture day photos (except maybe gr. 4 haha), so here's a little guide on things that you can do to make your picture perfect!

TOPS
- Solid or simple patterns look best. It's your face that you want to highlight, not your hot pink, ruffle blouse right?
- Choose colours that you know work with your skin tone. I was reading an interesting article online (click here to read!) and it explains how there are 4 colours that flatter any skin tone. Those include eggplant, true reds, teal, and mellow rose. So, if you are stumped on colours why not check some of those out!
- Choose something with a sleeve, either long or short. V-necks, collars, and scoops are my favs
- Avoid slogans or distracting patterns

BOTTOMS
We only see your top half, so any bottoms are acceptable! Heck you could wear rain boots and gauchos and no one would know (unless you have those full sitting down kind haha)

ACCESSORIES
- Keep your accessories simple. Choose some small earrings, and a simple necklace. You don't need to get that ultra trendy choker out.
- Pearls, silver, gold, or small beads are good choices

HAIR & MAKEUP

- SIMPLE. That is key when it comes to make up and hair on picture day
- If you are getting a haircut, try getting it a week to two weeks before the actual day. That way if you end up with crooked bangs, you have at least a chance to get them fixed
- If you have bangs, make sure they are out of your face when you get the picture taken
- Stick with a hair style you know works for you. No need to try experimenting with that crimper on this particular day.
- Bring a hairbrush, and some extra make up for touch ups. A compact mirror, q-tips, and tissues are also a good idea.
- Lots of makeup on camera looks pretty tacky. Stick to your basics; a bit of mascara, neutral eyeshadow across the lids, a touch of eyeliner, and a pink or clear lip gloss
- Got Acne? Remember, a lot of photography places offer retouching now, so don't stress!
